Coastal Dog Games
The Sergei Foundation is bringing back its Dog Games event by popular demand. After being voted as “Best New Charity Event” by the community for a Maggie Award, and other favorable community feedback, The Sergei Foundation has planned its second annual event for Saturday, March 21, 2020. It will be located in Southport’s Old Yacht Basin area. The inaugural event was held on Oak Island last November. This save-the-date notice comes early to alert the community of the date change – many expecting it to be held again this November. “We wanted to get out of hurricane season,” states Karen Fullerton, Founder and CEO of The Sergei Foundation. “Moving to the end of March provides the much-needed outing for pets after winter season and a perfect spring-fever event.” The festival will be in Southport, enabling visitors who come from out of town to experience the area’s restaurants, shops, and charm. The Sergei Foundation’s Dog Games has been a one-of-a-kind dog festival since 2014, originating in the Triad. It is designed for pets participate in dog sports such as dock jumping, frisbee, and agility; a unique offering from typical pet-related events. Best of all, this fundraising event (via entry donation) assists its mission to save companion pets’ lives by providing veterinary financial assistance to families unable to afford critical treatment for their dog or cat. All event details will be posted on the dedicated website, NCDogGames.com, as more information becomes available. Secured for the March 2020 Dog Games is the popular Dock Jumping, UpDog Challenge, and agility obstacles/training (new feature!). Stay up to date on event details by liking NCDogGames on Facebook.
