Kayaks

Kayaking & Stand Up Paddleboarding - So much water, so many places to kayak, canoe and/or stand up paddleboard. So if you like the adventure of the ocean, the endurance of a Cape Fear River trail, or just want to get close to nature in the many creeks and tidal marshes: the Southport-Oak Island area is the place to paddle.

Take a tour with a professional, bring your own equipment or rent it while you are here. In addition to these professionals, you can also rent a kayak from the Town of Oak Island Parks and Recreation Department located at 3003 E. Oak Island Drive (next to the kayak launch on the Davis Canal).

Ride the Tide Event
Annual events such at the Town of Oak Island's Ride The Tide Kayak float, held each Spring, showcase the excellent opportunities in our area for kayaking.
