Laser Music Marathon @ Ingram Planetarium
The marathon begins with Laser Mania at 8pm. Songs include Men in Black by Will Smith, That's the Way It Is by Celine Dion, Desert Rose by Sting and others. At 9pm, it's 1980's Laser Retro with Red Rider, The Police, Duran Duran, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. At 10pm -the 1970's Laser Vinyl including Van Halen, Aerosmeith, ACDC, Queen, KISS, Boston, Journey, & Pink Floyd. Laser Led Zeppelin at 11pm includes classic rock & roll Song Remains The Same, Good Times Bad Times, and Stairway to Heaven. The marathon ends at 12am with the timeless classic Laser Pink Floyd: The Wall. Appropriate for age 12 & up.

Bald Head Island National Lighthouse Day
The Pirates are coming! Once again, bands of Pirates will "invate" Bald Head Island. The Old Baldy Foundation and Bald Head Island Ltd. will welcome Pirates and entertainers spaning the Silver Coast of the Eastern Carolinas. Blackbeard's Crew-living history performance group. Rusty Cutlass-band of pirates hailing from central Florida playing traditional instruments, sing sea shanties and Pirate songs. Captian Jim- illusions and close-up magic dressed in authentic Pirate regalia down to his real wooden leg with his faithful feathered friend "Pepper" perched on his shoulder. Captain Horatio Sinbad - Modern day swashbuckler, who will steer his duantless brig, Meka II into Bald Head Island inlet with cannons blazing.

Southport-Oak Island Kiwanis Club will be selling numerous colors of beautiful Encore Azaleas and a wide variety of bedding plants for your yard and garden. Enjoy live entertainment throughout the festival featuring our own local talent on the stage. Saturday will feature the return of the old Robert Ruark Chili Cook-Off Contest.
